Obv: CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev: GLORIA EXERCITVS, two soldiers standing facing, each holding spear and shield; one standard between them.
Mintmark: TRP (or variant).
Diameter: c. 15–17 mm.
Weight: c. 1.5–2.0 g.
Struck AD 337–340.
Historical context:
Constantine II was the eldest son of Constantine the Great and ruled the western provinces after his father’s death. Coins from Trier reflect the continued importance of the Rhine frontier and emphasize military loyalty through the Gloria Exercitus reverse.
