Historical Background

Crispus was appointed Caesar by his father, Constantine the Great, and quickly established himself as a gifted military commander. He achieved notable victories against the Franks and played a decisive role in Constantine’s naval victory over Licinius during the civil wars that reunited the Roman Empire.
