- The reverse side of the coin features a kangaroo (symbolizing Australia), which was used as the design on the Australian penny until the 1930s.
- Material: The coins were made of bronze, and they were 27.3mm in diameter, weighing 9.4 grams.
- Significance: The penny during George V’s reign was used heavily in everyday transactions in Australia and is one of the more common early Australian coins for collectors.
