Issuer / Date: State of Queensland, 1901 (Federation). Obverse: Shield (arms) of Queensland with crown and motto (AUDAX ET FIDELIS) — clearly marked as the Queensland arms. Reverse: Seated female figure (Britannia-type) beneath an arch inscribed “UNITY IS STRENGTH”; globe showing Australia, Union Jack shield and the words AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH / FEDERATION / 1901 or similar. The names of the states are often shown on the arch columns.

Material & Size: Typical examples are gilt bronze / bronze, about 30–31 mm diameter. Many pieces are pierced (a small suspension hole) because they were worn as badges/souvenirs.
