Description
Authentic American Civil War Display Musket Minie Ball
What a Civil War Minié Ball Is
A Minié ball is a conical lead bullet with a hollow base, used extensively in rifled muskets during the American Civil War (1861-1865). Its design allowed it to easily load yet grip rifling for better accuracy — a major advance over the old round musket balls.
-
Often found excavated from battlefields (e.g., Virginia, Gettysburg).

Most authentic examples will show deformation from being fired or patina from burial.
