Description
Japanese Red Oak Bokken – Wooden Training Sword with Tsuba
A traditional-style Japanese bokken (木剣), also known as a boku-ken, a wooden practice sword designed for training in Japanese swordsmanship, martial arts and kata.
The term bokken combines boku (木), meaning “wood,” and ken (剣), meaning “sword.” Wooden training swords were developed as a safer alternative to practising techniques with a sharpened metal sword and have long been associated with Japanese martial arts and sword-training traditions.
This example is crafted from red oak hardwood and features a smooth, sanded finish. It is supplied with a plastic tsuba (hand guard) and matching rubber stopper, providing a traditional sword-like appearance while making it suitable for training and display.
