Vintage John Robertson Australian Ceramic Platter – Fruit Bowl – Display
Circa 1986
John Robertson is an Australian ceramic artist and designer who has worked across teaching, studio pottery, and design since the 1970s. He studied Art and Design at Box Hill Technical College and completed a Diploma in Ceramic Design at Caulfield Institute of Technology before establishing studios in Melbourne, Hawkesburn, and later Gerogery, New South Wales. In the 1980s, he taught ceramics at St George and Randwick Technical Colleges while maintaining his own practice from Quirk Street Studios in Rozelle. Robertson eventually settled in Blackheath in the Blue Mountains, where he built his home and studio, known locally as the Potter’s Cottage.
