Origin:Baoding balls originated in the Chinese Ming Dynasty, with their use documented since the 14th century. They are sometimes called “Baoding treasures” after the town of Baoding in North China where they are said to have originated.

Materials & Types:Historically, iron balls were used, and some people used walnuts for similar exercises before the invention of Baoding balls. Modern Baoding balls come in various materials and sizes, and some can even be magnetized internally.
