R. Parsons (1918–2011) was an Australian artist known for his evocative landscape paintings. He often worked under the pseudonym R. Parsons, though his full name was Leon William Hansen. Born to Norwegian and Spanish parents, Hansen studied art privately and began painting full-time after World War II. His works were exhibited across all Australian state capitals, and one of his drawings is held in the Art Gallery of New South Wales
Parsons primarily painted in oils and acrylics, capturing the Australian landscape with a distinctive style. His works have been featured in numerous auctions, with a total of 104 pieces offered since 1979. Of these, 63 were sold, reflecting a 61% sell-through rate . His highest auction price was $542 USD for a piece titled Middle Harbour, N.S.W., sold at Lawsons in 2015
