Whilst it cannot be verified this lighter may well have been made using spent Shells during the War. It appears crudely made.

Available is a rare antique French brass petrol lighter dating to the World War I period, featuring an unusual internal foxhole-style wick design and classic trench lighter construction. An exceptional and authentic piece of early 20th century militaria and tobacciana.

Crafted from solid brass, this lighter has developed a rich aged patina from over a century of use and storage. The simple utilitarian form reflects the practical wartime design often associated with trench and foxhole lighters carried by soldiers during the Great War.
